Aarons Reflections

Over the course of eight months during my mechanical engineering technology co-op, there were many opportunities at Barbican that I was able to explore. My main focus was the new ceiling system, which presented many challenges and questions. Whether it be designing, creating and finalizing prototype assemblies, becoming familiar with the use of the production machinery, or travelling out of country for critical jobs – there was always something new and exciting.

Being able to practice the skills I had just learned in college was very satisfying and also allowed me to develop them. Having the ability to take on individual projects and also to participate in collaborative ones, was key to improving my understanding of the workplace environment.

Many of the skills I developed while at Barbican will definitely aid me throughout my career.
