The Albany Capital Center in New York opened March 2017, after years of planning and construction. Barbican was asked to create something unique for a multipurpose meeting room. It was essential to be able to utilize the space for a variety of functions, using lighting to capture various moods.
The solution for this challenge led to our latest project which features what we’ve coined “Mullet Mode”. Offering the best of both worlds, Mullet Mode has both a 0-10V dimmable task lighting, aka “Business” mode, with a 3000°K white, delivering 1200 lumens per foot, as well as a fun “Party” mode, with RGBW colour changing abilities. These are independently controlled on two separate circuits. “Mullet Mode” is now available as a special option on most of Barbican’s products that offer an 8” X 8” or larger profile.
The Albany Capital Center used RGBW DMX Colour Changing LEDs in one of our Metro fixtures, the PCC Preconfigured Circle. Contact Barbican with any questions you may have.
