Corporate Forms Third Party Freight Policy
- All Barbican lighting orders are manufactured in Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada.
- Freight is FOB Barbican, Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada.
- As a standard practice, Barbican products are packaged and will ship on wood palettes/skids.
- Barbican will source and procure the most efficient and reliable truck transportation available at that time for the specific destination.
- Freight is always an additional charge and included as part of the invoice to the distributor.
- Barbican freight charges include all duties and brokerage fees applicable to cross the Canada/US border.
- Barbican authorized freight carriers maintain liability for damages while the product is in their control and in transit to the destination.
- On receipt of a shipment at destination, it is imperative that the products and packaging are inspected for damage.
- Once a product has been signed for as received, the order is considered to be accepted and damage-free.
- Any damage to products or packaging must be documented upon receipt, as a signature releases both Barbican and the carrier from any liability or claim.
- Third party freight pick-ups are acceptable under the Barbican freight policy.
- Third party freight pick-ups are processed under the direction of the Distributor and hence Barbican cannot support their handling practices or guarantee the condition of our products to the destination. Any claims for damage would be between the distributor and their selected carrier. Barbican absolves itself from any product issues associated with third party transportation. We are unable to issue a claim when we are not paying the carrier.
- Should a third party pick-up be insisted upon, the Distributor is responsible for providing Barbican all non-standard bill of ladings, labels and documentation for the order to clear customs. Any delays in receiving these items could impact the release and shipment of the goods. The Distributor is responsible for all duties and brokerage costs.
- On third party shipments, please be advised that if Barbican has to assist or administrate any part or portion of a third party pick-up, the Distributor will be invoiced a $200 order management fee that will be added to the final product invoice.
- Third party shipment of boxes can be completed by UPS ground or air. Barbican would require prior written approval to include the UPS account number and the zip code associated with this account for online scheduling and processing
