Barbican can laminate many custom fabrics. Barbican requires a minimum 1′ x 1′ swatch for testing. Please allow three business days for testing (excluding shipping). If the test is successful the swatch will be returned to the customer for approval.
Before sending the fabric to Barbican for testing, customers can perform their own test by wetting the fabric with water. This will give them an approximation of how the fabric will look when laminated.
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that enough of the custom fabric can be sourced.
Generally, fabric manufacturers produce only limited quantities of fabrics. Therefore, if the fabric will be needed for any jobs in the future, it is best to utilize Barbican’s printing capabilities.
All ink printing is done with a UV stable ink; making it safe and durable in lighting applications.
Photos, patterns, logos, motifs and more can be printed onto any Barbican Shade. Customers must provide Barbican with the graphic in the proper format.Print/graphic will need to be high-res (at least 250 dpi). Image dimensions should reflect the shade dimensions. Vector/text graphics should be in .eps or .ai format and images should be .jpg or .gif format. List any colour matches with appropriate colour codes, if applicable.
Graphic editing is available at an additional cost. A printed sample of the print is available by request before final production begins.
There are a number of royalty free stock images, available at various websites, such as Shutterstock, Dreamstock, Istock, and Adobe.
Full Sheet Colour:
Pantone colour matching can be achieved by printing full sheets of colour. Printed sheets are completely consistent in colour and coverage.
Metallic vinyl is used to create an effect similar to real metal work but at a lower weight and price. The metallic vinyl is opaque and achieves a silhouette effect when backlit. Pricing is based on the complexity and size of the design.
