Barbican has established a partnership with landscape artist Lonny Doherty to deliver a distinctive lighting concept based on his original landscape paintings. Lumiscapes by Barbican is a unique offering of stunning landscape paintings available as a shade material finish on the complete line of Barbican lighting fixtures. The result is a striking work of art that brings the beauty of nature indoors. Customers can choose one of Lonny Doherty’s original paintings and then select from a variety of fixtures and additional design options. Barbican also works with customers to create custom product designs which include lighting, room dividers and panels.
As both an artist and interior designer, when conducting renovations, I noticed the absence in the lighting market of pieces that were colourful, calming and unique,” said Lonny Doherty. “Barbican understood the concept. As a North American owned and operated lighting manufacturer of more than 25 years, it made them the perfect partner for Lumiscapes.
“We’re excited to be able to bring Lumiscapes by Barbican to the commercial design market,” said Steven Geiger, Vice President Sales, Barbican. “Lonny Doherty is a talented Canadian artist and designer. We are thrilled to be partnering with him to bring his vision to light for the commercial design world.”
Lumiscapes by Barbican will be unveiled on June 13 at NeoCon in Chicago, North America’s showcase for the international commercial interiors industry. In addition to lighting, Barbican offers room dividers and ceiling panels based on the paintings of Lonny Doherty.
